The original is the work of the Italian Renaissance sculptor Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, known as Donatello. The original is in the Palazzo Vecchio, in the Hall of Lilies. Here you can see the bronze copy that was placed (1988) in front of the facade of the Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking the Piazza della Signoria.
